Helichrysum Eye Cream

The cream is formulated for all skin types, including dry, oily, and combination skin. Its fragrance-free, alcohol-free formula also makes it suitable for the more sensitive eye area. The oil-based texture can feel richer on very oily skin, so a smaller amount per application is usually enough.

The eye cream can be used before wrinkles appear, since hydrating the delicate eye area is beneficial at any age. The formula has no ingredient specifically targeted at younger skin, and there's no evidence that starting earlier slows the later appearance of wrinkles. In that case, it simply functions as part of general care, not a targeted treatment.

Apply the eye cream after the Nina Natural Toner and Serum, and before your Day Cream or Night Cream, morning and evening. Use a small amount and gently pat it around the eye bone with your fingertip, without pulling the skin. This follows the general rule for the whole routine: lightest layer first, richest layer last.

The cream nourishes and hydrates the thin, delicate skin around the eyes with almond, olive, and sunflower oils, plus beeswax that helps lock in moisture on the surface. Skin feels softer and less tight after application, especially in the morning after sleep. The formula is fragrance-free and alcohol-free, making it suitable for the sensitive eye area.

Dark circles and puffiness are usually caused by genetics, tiredness, or fluid retention, and no cream removes them permanently. Hydration does make the skin appear firmer, though, so shadows and fine lines can look less noticeable. For a quick refreshing effect, keep the cream in the fridge and apply it cold, since the cold helps reduce puffiness further.

The eye cream is not suitable for vegans, as it contains beeswax (Cera Alba) as one of its key ingredients. The wax helps the oils in the formula stay on the skin longer and evaporate more slowly. If you're looking for vegan care for the eye area, this product currently doesn't meet that criterion.

A softer, more hydrated feel appears right after application, thanks to the oils and wax in the formula. For a more noticeable change in the look of fine lines, a reasonable timeframe is four to six weeks of regular use, roughly one skin renewal cycle. The skin around the eyes is thinner than the rest of the face, so it shows changes more slowly than, say, the cheeks.

The eye cream can be safely combined with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, which are applied using the Nina Natural serum before the eye cream.

With retinol, more caution is needed, since the skin around the eyes is thinner than on the rest of the face, so retinol is used once or twice a week in a thin layer during the first few weeks. The eye cream is then applied after the retinol, as the last layer.
